WHAT
IF?
Absent
When pupils return to
school after absence, they must bring a note signed and dated from a
parent/carer explaining the absence. Requests for absence
e.g. for weddings should be made in writing as far in advance as possible.
Late If pupils are late,
they must sign in at the school office. They will be issued with a green
timetable which teachers will sign at each class attended. The timetable must
be returned to the school office at the end of the school day. If arriving late at registration a note must
be brought in.
Appointments If pupils have an appointment, they
hand in a card or a letter from parent/carer at registration. It is emphasised
to pupils that they must not leave school without signing out at the school
office.
Ill
in school If pupils take ill in school, office staff will take pupils
to the sick bay before contacting parent/carer or emergency contact. Where at
all possible, it is expected that pupils will be taken home at the earliest
opportunity. In the case of a medical emergency, office staff will contact one
of the school's first aiders.
Need
a mobile phone Mobile phones must be
switched off when the bell rings at the start of the school day and at the end
of interval/lunchtime. If a phone goes off in class time, the phone will be
confiscated. Pupils will be asked to collect it from the member of senior
management who deals with the particular year group. If a pupil has a mobile
phone with a camera, this must not be used to make sound recordings of, or to
photograph pupils, staff or others within the school or within the school
grounds.
Medication If a pupil requires regular
medication e.g. Ritalin, please discuss arrangements for administration with
your child’s Guidance teacher.
